The Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S drag radial tires are an evolution of the ET Street and ET Street II range, and they improve on these previous models and the parallel ET Street Pro in various ways, most notably by relocating some of the tire’s diameter to provide stronger traction whilst reducing the risk of hydroplaning in wet weather. Like any Mickey Thompson tire, the S/S has generally good build quality, and delivers a high standard of performance when it comes to everyday usage. This isn’t to say that it’s a perfect tire, but it is getting a lot done for a relatively low price.
A wide, soft tire, the S/S (Street/Strip) is a good choice for those looking for consistent performance in everyday driving and a little extra kick on the drag strip. The tire sports a radial, tubeless construction with a leak-free seal, and the R2 compound used in the rubber allows for an overall softer contact with track surface than its predecessors.Â
This means you’re going to get fantastic traction on a wide variety of track conditions, however, much like previous models, the ET Street S/S don’t perform brilliantly in the rain. They’re still perfectly serviceable, but at the end of the day it’s a jack of all trades tire, so there are going to be some trade-offs.
